Moriscos La Riviera Nayarit has been on my list, pretty much since it opened in 2011. Located on Jimmy Carter, just east of I-85, it has been close to my office, but not close “enough” to have made it there, yet. On this day, I was heading south around lunch time and made a plan to give it a try.

Much larger than I expected, the picture above is from the middle of the restaurant, looking toward JCIB. The remainder of the restaurant, including a massive bar, is behind me.

I ordered the whole red snapper, that came with ceviche on the crispy tortilla above as a starter.

The snapper was rubbed in a chile marinade, then fried and served with rice, fries and

this red bowl. I tried to talk the server (we had quite the battle (my Spanish = her English) to determine whether to pour it over the fish or dip fish in it, but couldn’t make my question clear enough to get an answer.

I went with dipping the fish and from the photo below, I think I did a pretty good job on the fish itsel. And the meal was delicious.
