Judy’s Restaurant – Fairburn, Ga

One afternoon, heading from Fayette county toward home, I rolled through downtown Fairburn at lunch time. When I saw the name painted on a brick building, with a parking lot full of trucks, I knew where I’d be stopping.

Judy’s re- opened in this new location on Campbellton Street in February of 2025, having been a staple in Fairburn for years. It’s a classic meat and two and a little on the pricey side.

I went with fried chicken, creamed mashed potatoes (There was no white gravy, as their country fried steak had brown gravy) and creamed corn. The chicken was good, with a crispy skin. The gravy was the tragedy here. Country fried steak does not have brown gravy. Period. If it has brown gravy, it’s Salisbury steak. But I did enjoy the creamed corn.
